Optimum mechanical and electrical characteristics of the current-carrying parts are assured through the use of high-strength aluminum alloys combined with both the hinge and jaw contacts which utilize high-pressure, silver-to-copper construction. Throughout the current carrying parts, all bolts, nuts and pins are stainless steel, minimizing the possibility of corrosion.
A galvanized structural steel channel base is used to support the insulators and live parts assuring a high-strength, rigid design.
